There are so many bridal stores to choose from, how on earth do you decide where to shop? First, check out reputable wedding websites like The Knot and WeddingWire for reviews from real brides. Then, talk to your friends, family, and co-workers and ask them about their personal bridal boutique experiences. Next, browse the store’s website and see which designers they carry. Finally, take time to look at Pinterest to get an idea of your preferences in styles and designers.

If you happen to favor a particular designer’s look:

  1. Check out their website to find stores located near you who carry their designs.

  2. Contact the salons suggested and ask if they are having any trunk shows for the line.

What is a trunk show? A trunk show, sometimes referred to as a pop-up, is a limited-time special event where you have the opportunity to view and try on a wider selection of the designer’s samples. Typically the designer is sending a selection of their newest collection, fresh off the runway. Now you might be thinking, why don’t the bridal stores just have the complete collection of the designer’s samples available all the time? Due to the amount of space that would be needed to store that many gowns and the cost associated with purchasing them, it’s just not feasible. Each boutique independently and carefully selects the gowns they wish to carry that will be well suited for what the brides in their area are looking for. This is going to vary by town, state, and region of the U.S. So, shopping a trunk show will allow you to browse gowns that are not normally available in that particular store.

Why shop a trunk show? Aside from having a larger selection of gowns available to try-on and viewing the hottest trends, there’s a special financial incentive. All trunk show gowns are offered with a 10% off discount! This offer is only available during your appointment, so don’t delay. Sadly, as soon as the show concludes, so does the discount. Sample gowns are then packed up and returned to the designer.

As always, appointments are required and fill up very quickly. Give us a call to reserve your spot as soon as possible and consider booking a weekday appointment as weekends are typically the first spots filled. If they are booked to capacity, ask to be placed on the cancellation list. You just may get lucky!
